This cute 3 bedroom cottage is on the Muskoka River, just
below the Indian Landing 'natural water slide' in Port Sydney.
It is elevated from the river with a path and some steps to
the waterfront, and from both the dock and the deck the view
is calming and peaceful. The waterfront is natural vegetation.
It is a quiet stretch of the river, small motors OK and the
speed limit is 10 km., no PWC on this section. You can travel
about 8 km. down the Muskoka River, then continue after a
simple portage. There is a swim raft with a diving platform
for those wanting deep water swimming and access into the
river is from the ladder on the dock, where the water depth
is about 4 feet. The cottage is on a double lot, so there
is lots of room for the kids to run and play. The interior
of the cottage is bright and well cared for. The den, which
is adjacent to the living room, has the TV/VCR so you can
still relax quietly in the living room while the movies entertain
others in the den. The privacy is good and the area is residential.
Mary Lake public beach and boat launch is just 2 minutes away,
big boat gateway to the Vernon, Fairy and Peninsula Lake system
via the Brunel locks.
Located in the heart of a winter sports haven, the cottage
is 5 minutes from the main Muskoka Snowmobile trail system.
Cross country and Nordic trails are close by with downhill
skiing at Hidden Valley; ice fishing and ice skating at the
Port Sydney Beach.
LOCATION: a 2 minute drive into Port Sydney, 15 minute
drive north to Huntsville, 20 minutes to Arrowhead Provincial
Park, 15 minute drive south to Bracebridge (Santa's Village),
an hour to Algonquin Park. Close to several golf courses including
North Granite Ridge in Port Sydney, Deerhurst, and Club Link's
Mark O'Meara.
