Over 2 acres of natural surroundings at this Muskoka River cottage will delight those of you who wish to have quiet, peaceful and private vacations. The calm river is great for canoeing. You can mosey up the river to the sand bar at Balsam Chutes or easily portage around the chutes and continue up river to Mary Lake.
The winding, well treed driveway to the cottage brings you to a large level yard that includes a small fort for the kids, a large fire-pit and a sleeping bunkie which accommodates 4 people. The yard is well kept and has plenty of sun or shade areas to relax and play in. The two bedroom cottage is simple, spacious and offers lots of natural sunlight through the large west facing windows. The great room is very warm, inviting and tastefully furnished! There are 2 well laid out bedrooms and 2 spotless washrooms. The kitchen opens to the expansive deck that faces the treed view of the river. This deck is great for hanging out on and has a secondary area on the opposite side of the great room that is perfect for sitting to read a book or catching a nap. From the elevated cottage, a wide smooth gravel trail leads to a clearing below where there is a second fire pit and another natural path leading to the dock. The dock is new and gives a great view of one of the oldest bridges in Muskoka to the north, and the winding river to the south. This section of the river is slow moving and provides great swimming with little current and no weeds to tickle your feet! Small motor boat activity is possible but canoes and row boats, etc. are recommended.
This comfortable and clean cottage is waiting to be filled with laughter and good times for your whole family!
LOCATION: About 2hrs north of Toronto. About half way between Bracebridge and Huntsville which are both about 15min's away for most all amenities. The village of Port Sydney is just a few short minutes away for some groceries, public beach and the scenic dam.
