A scenic drive through the famed village of Rosseau and further along a classic cottage road will bring you to your destination on Sucker Lake. Being a smaller, less populated lake in Muskoka affords a private and serene vacation within minutes of Rosseau and Lake Rosseau. Very little road and water traffic is a benefit as is the heavily treed 2 acre property. Ultimate privacy!
A classic Normerica, post & beam cottage with tons of character sits elevated with west-north-west exposure over a calm and clean Sucker Lake. With 3 perfectly presented bedrooms, a grand main livingroom, eat-in kitchen and a bright dining room with an antique harvest table, you won’t need to “make due” with anything! The open concept main level is bright with light from the expansive windows. Vaulted ceilings extenuate the beams and tasteful furniture. The antique harvest table reminds you of the “olden-days” with its aged wood and iron nails! The kitchen is spacious and functional. Pocket doors are placed in areas to save space within the cottage. All of the bedrooms are well proportioned and cozy. The main bathroom, on the upper level is spotless and well laid out. Again, the ceilings are vaulted and the windows are large. This cottage stays cool in the summer as it is shaded by the towering trees and it is heated by a woodstove in the winter. The lower level is unfinished but serves as a cooler spot to sit as well as a more convenient way to enter and leave the cottage. There is a gravel patio area off of the lower area for outdoor seating. The stairs to the waterfront are steep and not suitable for toddlers or the elderly. There is a large grassy area between the stairs and the dock for picnics and playing. The shoreline is natural grass with sand bottom and about 2 1/2ft of water at the end of the dock for the 2 kayaks.
Sucker Lake offers superb exploring and swimming. There is lots of shoreline to explore as the lake is not very populated! Come to Sucker Lake and enjoy your stay in privacy but just minutes from the hustle and bustle of a classic cottage town in Muskoka.
LOCATION: About 2.5hrs north of Toronto just minutes to the famous cottage village of Rosseau for shopping, restaurants, general store and LCBO.
