17 acres of tall serene forest and 1,600 feet of mixed rock and natural shoreline welcome you to a secluded cottage on Six Mile Lake. This expansive lake offers supreme privacy, great fishing, boating and sight-seeing and is located near the Big Chute Marine Railway...the second most photographed tourist destination in Ontario! With all of the shoreline and acreage to explore, it is no surprise that the property may have you busy for days on end! A sand beach and good docking allows for all sorts of water activities. Canoe into Gibson Lake or portage into Gloucester pool, Port Severn.
This 8 bedroom, 4 bath cottage still maintains a rustic feel as it combines 2 living rooms, a great room, a very large dining room as well as the classic Muskoka Room in a simple “mirrored” floor plan. The bedrooms are also laid out in the same format as you climb the stairs and have the option of getting a room on either side of the landing. There is no fighting over the “best” room as every room has the same amenities as the room on the opposite side of the cottage!
The lane way brings you to a grand back porch chalk full of Muskoka chairs and early morning light. The main foyer is large and inviting. The wide staircase is directly centered in the foyer and is highlighted by a mural wall. The main level is well presented and simple. With Birchwood, slate and ceramic tile flooring to compliment the stone wood fireplaces, simple furniture and neutral color tones..this cottage oozes relaxation!
The expansive deck off of the Muskoka room looks through the trees toward the water with Western views. The hot tub gives an added bonus for relaxing under the tree tops and stars. Down the trodden path you will find a sand beach for the kids, a good sized dock, swim platform and beyond all of these private pleasures is a lake with miles and miles of boating.
LOCATION: About 1.5hrs north of Toronto. Close to the small town of Port Severn for dining, LCBO, some shopping and more.
