This
lovely cottage with bunkie has much to offer both
inside and out. There has been a large amount of quality renovations since September 2009 with over 1,500 sq. ft of new decks and docks. The 2 acre property is flat and grassed to the water
so
it
is perfect for young children. Depending on water levels
you may have a large sandy beach, otherwise the water
is shallow and access is down a few steps into the lake.
With its southwestern exposure, the property has 200 ft of waterfront on the 13 km long lake, and both swimming and boating are
excellent. There are lots of outdoor activities including tennis
on the paved court
behind
the cottage. Inside,
you can
choose to play ping pong, or just curl up beside the
woodstove with a good book.
The interior of the cottage has
oak floors and an open concept with lots of windows overlooking
the lake. At one end of the living area is a table perfect
for playing cards or extra seating for dining. Four of the
bedrooms are on the main floor, and the other three are in
the finished basement which has slate and hardwood flooring, and a patio door walkout to
the ground level. There is deck overlooking the lake and
with the southwest exposure you receive good sun all day
and the best of the sunsets. There is also an office/library
if you are on a working vacation (with high-speed wireless within 150 ft of the cottage). In the heart of snowmobile
country, this cottage is an ideal weekend get-away.
LOCATION: 25 minutes north of Minden, between Carnarvon
and Dorset, west of Hwy. 35, about 40 minutes to Algonquin
Park, 5 minutes
to Leslie Frost Resource Centre, 45 minutes east of Bracebridge,
and 45 minutes southeast of Huntsville for shopping, dining and golfing. Downhill skiing at Sir Sam's, 30 minutes away, and outdoor skating in Dorset, 10 minutes away.
