This bright and cheery, open-concept cottage is conveniently located directly off of Hwy. #35, just 20 min north of Minden and 20 min south of Dorset. It is also close to popular shopping areas, tourist attractions, good restaurants and the town of Haliburton is 20 min to the east. The 1600 sq. ft. cottage is slightly elevated from the waterfront and hosts a beautiful view through 2 large picture windows that also overlook a large deck with a gas barbecue and a stairway for accessing the waterfront. On the main floor, you’ll find a spacious family room/eating area with a beautiful natural pine cathedral ceiling. The well appointed kitchen is open to both areas making it a great entertainment room. The large master bedroom is also on the main floor opposite the 4 piece bathroom. A natural wooden staircase leads you from the family room down to the lower level with 2 more bedrooms, a 3 piece bathroom, a large rec room complete with an airtight wood stove and a walkout to a grassy area which leads down to the dock and beach. A fire pit is close by and for your added pleasure, a rowboat and a paddle boat are available to either tour the lake or take in some good bass and brown trout fishing . There are approximately 10 other cottages on the lake and a boat launch only minutes away on Little Hawk Lake. Saskatchewan Lake is part of the Hawk lake chain and is situated within the Leslie M Frost forest area giving way to 191 free campsites and countless water and land trails, making this area a naturalist and canoers paradise. Haliburton's lakes are part of an elaborate system of rivers, lakes and dams that help to feed the Trent Severn waterway to the south. By mid-summer, the water levels drop by about 4 to 5 ft. adding to the shallow, pebble, sandy entrance from the shore as shown. This may also make the water level to low for boats to enter the lake from Little Hawk Lake. For winter time, snowmobile trails are close by as is Sir Sam's Ski Area.
