SELECTING THE RIGHT CLIENT FOR YOU

We have found that the major concern of cottage owners who rent their vacation home, is finding the right person or family to use their property. At Water's Edge we recognize that your cottage property is a very special place for you and your family, and like yourselves, we want it treated with care and respect.

Each client completes a ‘Cottage Rental Application’ which provides us with specific information about themselves so that we can carefully analyze their suitability to your property. We will only rent your cottage to those who meet your conditions as well as ours. Some of the conditions often included are related to pets, smoking, maximum number of people etc. Once completed, even with a deposit received, we will not approve the application until we have successfully completed our screening process and have a signed ‘Cottage Rental Agreement’.

We require that renters provide preauthorization to use their credit card as a guarantee in the event that there is any damage to your cottage. In addition, renters have the option to purchase our Accidental Damage Waiver Plan which covers them, and in turn protects you, for accidental damages up to $2,500.

Each client is provided with a ‘Life at the Cottage’ package which includes a set of Household Rules specific to your cottage property. They are responsible for the care and normal use of these items and for following all included instructions. Also included in this package is general information about cottage life and some straight forward information about things we often take for granted (like keeping garbage away from raccoons etc.). We also provide you with a copy of this.
