This beautiful 2,800 sq. ft., 2 level, 6 bedroom cottage is nestled on 1.5 acres of land overlooking the peaceful shores of Horn Lake. The cottage was built in 2000 as a custom year round home by the original owners and is now enjoyed by the current owners as a family cottage, the property possesses the amenities of a well built home with the feel of a well loved cottage.
The cottage has an ideal layout with bedrooms, bathrooms and living/entertainment areas on both levels, providing plenty of room for the entire family to spread out and relax. Great attention to detail can be found in both the interior design and layout along with all the décor accents, adding to the inviting warmth you will feel from the moment you enter the cottage. The open concept kitchen/dining/living room has gorgeous soaring pine cathedral ceilings, with an abundance of floor to ceiling windows framing stunning views out to the lake. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences of home with plenty of counter space for preparing meals that can be enjoyed at the beautiful harvest dining table, all while taking in peaceful lakeviews. And at the center of this wonderful living space is a stunning floor to ceiling wood burning stone fireplace, the perfect spot to settle in front of.
The main floor has 3 spacious well-appointed bedrooms with the lake facing master bedroom having its own 3-piece ensuite. This main floor is the perfect space for couples to settle into for a great night's sleep, while the lower level is all about fun. Kids and big kids at heart will enjoy the gaming/movie lounge outfitted with a PS4 and lots of games for all ages. The themed bedrooms are an eclectic mix of all things the owners love, especially the forest ranger bunk bedroom honouring their Dad's 27 years of service fighting forest fires and along with his pal Smokey, educating the public about fire prevention.
As inviting as the interior of the cottage is, you will not be able to get enough of all that the property has to offer! With a multitude of decks to have your morning coffee on, it will be hard to choose where you want to start your days as mother nature comes to life. The beach gets all day sun but there is also a picnic table beside it with a large umbrella to provide shaded cover. The little ones can safely splash and play in the shallow lake entry here, while the older kids can jump off the end of the dock into the refreshing water to cool off. With 340 feet of water frontage, floating around the shoreline is one of the owner's favorite ways to spend an afternoon, and being tucked into a bay the waters are calmer, making it great for early morning paddles.
Horn Lake is a clean and clear spring fed lake with amazing rock formations and bays to explore. It is a beautiful lake for paddling with 22km of shoreline, max depth of 130 ft., and 25% is protected Crown Land, offering peace and tranquility. For avid anglers, Horn Lake is abundant with trout, smallmouth bass, walleye, white fish and burbot species.
After a full day of fun in the sun, start up the BBQ for dinner out on the deck, and as the day comes to an end, beautiful sunsets can be seen from the dock or better still paddle out a short distance into the bay and float on calm waters while the sun goes down, the view looking down the lake is truly magical!
