What's not to love about this wonderful 4-season Lindel cottage, nestled on 1 acre of well-treed land on a quiet year round cul-de-sac! Welcome to this lovely 1,900 sq. ft., 2 level, 4 bedroom cottage overlooking the pristine waters of Kawagama Lake!
With easy access off of a municipal road, the new owners fell in love with this classic cottage and prime piece of property. They enhanced the level to gently sloped lakefront land with large stunning granite stairs down to the 380 feet of water frontage and added a new dock and side deck.
As you step into the cottage, you will instantly feel the weight of the city's hustle and bustle fall to the wayside. Cathedral ceilings with exposed beams and oak floors give the whole open concept kitchen/dining/living room a warm and inviting ambiance. A wall of floor to ceiling windows along the entire front of the cottage add filtered sun rays to the interior while lending fabulous views out to the lake. Whether prepping meals, dining or relaxing with after dinner drinks in front of the fireplace you will have this lakeview as your backdrop! Three spacious, tastefully decorated bedrooms and a 3-piece bathroom round out the main level.
The lower level has a cozy family room with large picture windows looking out to the lake and a direct walk-out to a lower covered patio deck. A fourth lake-facing bedroom, laundry room and a 3-piece bathroom round out the lower level.
Start your mornings off on the large deck, cup of coffee in hand, while embracing the peacefulness of early mornings in cottage country. With a canoe, kayak and paddleboat at your disposal, be sure to get out and explore the lake, especailly in the morning when the water is at its calmest. The waterfront will appeal to both young and old alike with a small sandy beach and shallow entry as well as deep swimming off of the end of the dock.
All of Kawagama Lake’s water flows from Algonquin lakes, just to the north, so it’s very clean with no weeds, making it ideal for swimming. If you choose to rent or bring your own boat, you will enjoy endless hours of boating not only on Kawagama Lake but there is access to both Bear Lake and Fletcher’s Bay as well. Kawagama Lake is the largest lake in the Haliburton Highlands being over 12 kms. long and 4 kms. at its widest point, with over 133 kms. of shoreline and uninhabited islands and lots of bays to explore.
For a change of pace, take a day trip into the charming village of Dorset with a wonderful waterfront restaurant, café, ice cream parlour and local shops including the eclectic Robinson’s General Store. The Dorset scenic outlook is also definitely worth checking out. For the fitness buffs, hike the trail to the top of Bear Mountain for incredible vistas or climb the famous Dorset Lookout Tower which stands at 465 feet and gives you 360 degree views of Lake of Bays. For longer day trips, venture out to popular Algonquin Park.
However you choose to spend your days, be sure to get back to the cottage before dark, with a northwest exposure the sunsets are amazing from front row seats on the dock! Cottage life at its finest for every member of the family.
